The Armor of God
YOU ARE in a war.   In war there are battles.  -- You need some armor...

Let's now look at the Armor of GOD as detailed in one of the key verses of scripture dealing with spiritual warfare. Img (Hover your mouse over the picture at the right)

There is a wealth of information that can be studied and drawn out from this section of scripture in Ephesians 6. The following is a quick overview.

Keep in mind that the key to activating the doorway into the spiritual realm is your faith. -- Victory in the battle, is by putting your faith in Christ into action.

Ephesians 6:10-18
  • 10- "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
-- In fact, we are stronger to admit our weakness, because that's when we realize that we must depend on God's strength rather than our own.
    2 Corinthians 12:8-10

  • 11- "Put on the whole Armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
-- A half-hearted Christian will get slaughtered in the battle -- That's just the way it is.

QUESTION: "HOW do I 'put it on'?"
ANSWER: By your faith in Christ. ... not by your faith in the words, but through the words, put your faith in THE WORD. Think of it the same way as baptism: You immerse yourself (Your entire life) from head to toe, dying to yourself and yielding yourself completely to God through Jesus Christ (who is the Resurrection and the Life). John 11:25-26

  • 12a- "For we wrestle..."
-- Close Quarters Combat - watch any College wrestling or grappling: The first round is called "Take-Down" where each opponent's objective is to get the other down to the ground. ...Now if you just stand there clueless, it's guaranteed, your going down --fast. And it doesn't stop there.

  • 12a- "not against flesh and blood"
-- If you don't want to take the Kingdom of God seriously in your life, then just continue looking at everying through the eyes of your flesh. Then when a conflict arises, you will naturally react in the flesh, like getting mad at those around you etc., and thus, the demons will enjoy weilding you around like a circus pony, because, you're not aware of how they are influencing you and those around you.

But, if you continue to pursue the Kingdom of Heaven operating in your life, then when you have a conflict, you will learn to FIRST address the spiritual realm See Basics I - The Spiritual realm

In other words, First align yourself with God (which requires humility). Ask God for His Wisdom and direction in the situation. Then, listen for His answer. (Without that first step, the rest of the conflict resolution would be a shallow victory at best.)

  • Four Level Hierarchy of the demonic military:
    1. 12b- "but against principalities,"
-- The principalities are princes which have assigned territories

    2. 12c- "against powers, "
-- Powers can be observed both in terms of legal powers and military (physical power).

    3. 12d- "against the rulers of the darkness of this world,"
-- Rulers give the standards. Darkness equates to lies. ... If you set up false standards (lies that are masked within politics), you can easily manipulate the people. We all know that there is commonly a controling few who are "at the top" in many organizations, Businesses, the entertainment Industry, international Clubs, religions, churches, Scientific Communities, Education, many realms of society - that are in the dark domain of the god of this world.

    4. 12e- "against spiritual wickedness in high places. "
-- Manipulating an entire nation becomes even more possible if you strategically place demonic influences in high places of government, in the leadership of organizations (likes schools and especially churches), all the way down to individuals like you and me. Like a cloud that covers a broad area, spiritual wickedness pervades the minds of many either in a specific physical region or that fall prey to an erronious way of thinking, peer influence, an uncontested false rumor or even falsified facts widely distributed by the mainstream media.

Now you have a pretty good war Campaign for ruling the Earth. Which is the insane desire of satan who's pride desire to rise above God. Hopefully, you can see how this has been orchestrated in every nation throughout history and especially in the current times. Yes, the devil has done his job fairly well...except for one big roadblock -- Christ within you!

It is no doubt that satan and his armies gained their military structure from the previous status when they were serving God (before their rebellion). One thing to keep in mind is that 1/3 of the angels rebelled! That's a lot of demons! ... but remember: for every demon, there are twice as many angels of God. and none of them a match for Christ who chooses to defeat such a formidable military campaign through weak and limited and even imperfect humans (like you and me)! But don't get cocky -- your pride is the key to the devil's victory.

  • 13- "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
-- Look how many times it says "stand". remember the Take-Down in wrestling? Who DIDN'T get took down? Was it the demon? Was it the half-hearted/religious Christian - mindlessly quoting (or mis-quoting) Bible verses? Or was it the soldier, fully trained and dressed for battle? -- This doesn't mean that you have to go to seminary school, Bible college or spend years of learning Hebrew and Greek. ...Remember the first territory that counts the most - is your heart.

  • 14a- "Stand therefore,"
-- this implies NOT sitting down waiting for God to do it all. In otherwords: get up and be ready to use what God has already given you.

  • THE ARMOR
  • 14b- "having your loins girt about with Truth, "

-- This is where it all centers around, and where it all starts. The belt is physically at the center of gravity of the body. The loins, of course, are also the center of life (reproductive organs).

Challenging thought: What good is your life, if you're life is centered around a lie ("living a lie"), rather than your life centered around the TRUTH? ... What will be the fruit (family) of your body, the fruit (creativity) of your soul and the fruit (God's Light to others) of your spirit?

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

    EXERCISE:

Putting on this "belt" requires honesty. -- rather than "belting-out" a patronizing prayer, ...try: a moment of silence as you stand before God, and listen. Even if you don't "hear" anything inititally, you will find yourself more and more coming into alignment with His Kingdom. Use this exercise to center yourself with Him.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
    John 15:4

  • 14c- "and having on the breastplate of righteousness;"

-- The breastplate covers the heart. Righteousness is the state of being Right or more specifically, in the right place with God. You must have your heart in the right place --in the Truth (Jesus Christ).

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

    APPLICATION:

As you stand honestly before God, examine your heart before Him. This is the time to expose and eliminate all strongholds that interfere with your relationship with your Heavenly Father. This might be difficult at first -- (see module on strongholds).

You must stand before Him willing to let Him be your judge, and to allow Him to judge you thoroughly... to which, the penalty is death (not physical)... Then seek His redemption through the Cross which is the only way your heart can be made right with God. Romans 5:21

  • 15- "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; "

-- Should a warrior run to the battle ...in his bare feet?

We take for granted having a means of separating the souls of our feet from the rough ground. It is the base of the shoe that separates (make us different) and protects us from the roughness of the World. It even gives us sure footing which allows us to travel faster and with confidence: to--within--and--from each battle.

And even though it may not be a battle everytime we go out of our front door into the world, we should always be ready (prepared) for a spiritual encounter whether it be connection or conflict.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always
to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" 1 Peter 3:15

Question: Why did Moses have to take OFF his sandals when he was in the presence of the Lord?
Answer: Because, as it is the custom of many eastern cultures for one to take their shoes off before they enter the intimacy of another's dwelling, it is a humbling and endearing act. Indeed, when you gird (center) yourself in The Truth and cover your heart with the Righteousness of God, it must be done in an intimate place with God which requires humility and honesty. Psalm 91:1-2

    Shoes have basically two components:
    1. The soul or bottom material that separates your feet from the ground, and
    2. The material that binds the soul of the shoe to your foot. ("your feet shod").

Feet are symbolic of motion, or rather our motive-ation and ability of ministering to others. Here the instruction that the apostle Paul is giving is to PREPARE ourselves by binding our motives with the Gospel of Peace.
    • Preparation = discipleship is the action of training & discipline.
    • The Gospel of Peace = in essence, is the invitation for any human heart to accept the son of God (Jesus the Messiah = The Prince of Peace) as their Redeemer, Savior and Lord.

In many martial arts they prepare themselves not only by physical conditioning, but also by rehearsing a series of basic techniques that are almost like a dance. Remember the illustration of dancing? Get on your dancing shoes by binding yourself to the Word of God by memorizing and meditating on it. The Word of God is The Truth that separates you from the lies of and in the world. It is the Light that shines through and separates the darkness in the hearts of men. John 1:1-5
    APPLICATION:

Now, you are preparing to go out into the World. Mark 16:15 You must first find God's peace in your own heart before you can share it with others. To do this you have to first bind yourself to the Cross and die to yourself (your personal agendas). Then, through His resurrection, you become alive to God Romans 6:11 It is only after you've gone through that process that your testimony and the witness of how you live your transformed life will have a powerful effectiveness on others. Again this is easier said than done. It is a process that gets easier the more you do it. And the best place to do it is when you are meditating on Him through His Word.

God's way of battle is quit different from the way we wrestle in the flesh. His way is the Truth and the Life John 14:6 -- no longer a battle, but a dance that is alive and dynamic as you FOLLOW the Lord of Hosts. You must condition (humble, submit and connect) yourself so when he moves, you move -- WITH Him. And so the battle will be much easier than you thought.

Even though many people may think what you doing is foolish, others will greatly benefit from it as they will want the freedom of movement that you have. Strangely, what was once a harmful and embarrassing struggle is dissolved and transformed into an even enjoyable event as you flow through it with the Prince of Peace to the rhythm of the music. What is the music? It is simply the Praise of God (we will look at that in POWER TOOLS).

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way."
    Psalm 37:23

Lastly, "When you enter a house - say PEACE be to this house..." this means you are submitting to Jesus (The Prince of Peace) and it is His peace that enters with you. If there are demons or human spirits that are in rebellion to Christ, you are not subject to them, they are subject to the power of Christ. If the beliefs of those who dwell there do not change as a result of your preseence and the presence of Christ, then it is sad for them. And when you leave, whatever attacks, acusations, attempted influences etc, have no right to affect you and, you must leave them to theirselves. Not that you don't continue to pray for their salvation, but you just don't let the lies they are lost in, nor the demons that they have allowed in therir life - you don not let them affect or in anyway have access to your life.(This is what "shaking the dirt off your feet" means)

  • 16- "Above all, taking the Shield of FAITH,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. "

-- In the days when the apostle Paul wrote this letter, a shield was made big enough that a soldier could hide himself behind it. Not only that but if it was faced with leather, they would drench it in water to extinguish the flaming arrows that were designed to not only pierce the flesh, but burn and destroy it -- or the shield that's protecting it.

    Here's the symbolism:
    • Darts (arrows) are little lies.
    • Fire is high inspiration that is typically under time pressure and therefore must be urgently dealt with or it will consume everything it hits.
    • Water is symbolic of the Holy Spirit John 7:38-39
    • The Shield immersed in water symbolizes being baptized in the Holy Spirit -- meaning constantly dying to yourself and covering yourself with His Love Power and wisdom 2 Timothy 1:7 Ephesians 2:18
    APPLICATION:

You can stop every lie when your faith is fully behind the Living Truth. This is not only a piece of armor you wear, it is one that you use. Faith requires putting action behind your belief (Best to Believe in the Truth!).... But like the shield, your faith does you no good, if you put it down and don't use it. Notice the word "all". That means your faith in Christ can withstand each and every attack of the enemy, no matter how small or how great.

EXAMPLE: You hear a fiery thought: "I'm worthless" or it may even come out of the mouth of someone you love: "Let's just be friends". You can shield yourself by first turning to God (especially if you don't feel like it). Now take action by praying to God first (casting ALL your cares on Him) Then choose to trust what God has already said to you in the scriptures:
    1 Peter 5:6-7 Romans 5:8 Jeremiah 29:11 Ephesians 2:4-6
If the thought, or attack persists, you can choose to move from a defense position, to an offensive one by using the sword (that's in your other hand). Philippians 4:13

  • 17a- "And take the helmet of salvation, "
-- Your head may be hard, but it still needs protection (mainly from within). But don't put your helmet on backwards! In other words, You need to keep in mind where and who your salvation comes from Psalm 62

Neither should you take it off (as many like to do) by trying to earn your salvation by your "good works". This is not the movies, where the brave warrior (not soldier) throws off his helmet so he can fight unrestricted. At this point, he has made an unwise choice to fight under his own power -- which works only in the fantasy of the movies and perhaps in a war of flesh and blood... But the Spiritual Realm is NOT fought in the flesh (or in the movies) and that is an especially stupid thing to do in spiritual warfare!

The devil is a master craftsman in the art of deception and lies. You are no match for him. He will twist your little pea-brain with his subtle skillfulness, and you will buy it 100% wholesale because it feeds your pride. And it wont be long before you find yourself alone in the desert weeds, all torn-up and pleading for God to save you. Why? Because you took off the helmet of Salvation by going back to doing things your way and ended up following, willingly, the devil's discreetly laid path away from God.

The helmet (Our minds aligned with Christ) protects other areas that we take for granted:
Our Eyes - How we SEE both in the Spirit Soul & Body
Our Ears - How we HEAR both in the Spirit Soul & Body Our speech
The helmet also covers the neck which connects the head with the rest of the body. The New Testament describes the (real) church as the body of Christ 1 Corinthians 12:27

Christ is the head, we are the body Ephesians 4:14-16 Whether individually, or together (as a body), we must always cover and fill our thinking with the Truth of His Salvation (rather than the 'status quo' of the World).

For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?"
But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
    (read entire chapter in context)

    APPLICATION:

    Christ is our salvation
To put on the helmet is to humble ourselves under His identity, protection and direction. And we don't do that by saying a simple prayer and then going off ignorantly doing our own thing. It's by maintaining our relationship with Him and putting Him first:
    In seeking Him in prayer
In seeking Him through the scriptures
In putting Him first in all relationships - good & Bad
In chosing His way over our way
    In everything you do.
Picture the helmet as a hi-tech piece of equipment that has Direct Satellite 2-way communication with the Holy Spirit. When God is truly your Savior, you are not helpless. You've got back-up. You have 24/7 access to an inummerable host of angels as well as the power of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 12:22

For God did not appoint us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep,
we should live together with Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7

    Psalm 69:13

Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.
    He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
    . . .
    Psalm 62 (Read all)

  • 17b- "and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"

-- This is a double edged sword, used both defensively and offensively... All spirits are subject to the Truth of God's Word.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. "
    Hebrews 4:12

    APPLICATION:

This is a formidable piece of weaponry, that is best used first on yourself! ... If you allow Him, the Holy Spirit is quit skilled and capable of helping you use it like a surgeon's knife to cut out those toxic and decaying areas in your heart and mind.

Once you've done that, you will heal rapidly, be restored and then able to be much more effective in defeating the enemy as well as rescuing others. Luke 6:41-42 You will really begin to exercise this when you get to the module on Strongholds. (click to jump to module on Strongholds).

As with any weapon, you must be careful with it. A good weapon is properly balanced in the hand of the one who wields it. Proper understanding of how to hold it and how to use it, is obviously necessary. If it has too much weight out at the end, it takes too much energy to be effective and wears out the warrior. This is when scripture is used out of context and in a religious manner.

When a warior is properly trained, the sWORD becomes a part of him. He able to offensively and defensively use the sword faster with greater accuracy and power as he weilds it from his own center of gravity. Similarly, a Holy Spirit filled warrior who has studied to show himself approved (2 Tmothy 2:15 ) is able with compassion and love, to allow the power of the Holy spirit to flow through him at the right time, delivering the impact necessary to destroy the demonic opponent and create a bridge of salvation to redeem a neighbor who is bound.

Like any good weapon or tool, you must take the time to gain the skill of its use through training. Much of our training is done by seeking God through prayer and His Word (Memorization/Meditation is seeking knowledge, Understanding & Wisdom from the Holy Spirit). It can be accelerated when done with others who have had experience in the battle-field and are available and willing to mentor you.

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth."

Joshua 1:8 "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. "

Psalm 1 "1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
    3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

  • 18a- "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,"
-- Supplication is an earnest and sincere request that is made humbly and often repeated .

    APPLICATION:

Don't just pray once and go off on your own. Stay in communication with the Holy Spirit.
There are other advanced features of this that will be covered in StepStay Free

  • 18b- "and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

-- It bears repeating ...YOUR life is at stake. You can't slack off (falling back to your old self).
    APPLICATION:

You have to stay 'on guard'... How do you do that without wearing yourself out in fear? ... Easy. You have to "Rest in Peace" = (Die to yourself and fully put your trust in The Prince of Peace). In addition, don't just pray for yourself but also for those around you (for "all saints").
It's time to live LIFE to the fullest.

Do not overlook the Power of God's Peace.

A good many problems in life are spiritual. Even if a problem may be "of the flesh" (mental, emotional or physical), many a mature Christian will tell you (from experience), that if we deal with the spiritual issues first, there will be less to deal with in our flesh.

EXAMPLE:
Many times (like everyone else) we have reacted to what we see and think and feel (in our flesh). We have experienced this in our home with our son who is still a baby, who in this instance, would not stop crying. Even after we had fed him, burped him and checked his diaper, he just wouldn't stop crying. which caused us a certain amount of worry as well as stress. Then my wife said let's pray. So we did. We didn't hear a deep echoing voice from heaven, but almost immediately I got a thought to take off his pampers and wrap him in a t-shirt. So we got busy doing that and a few minutes later, he was quiet. Later, I remarked to my wife how that was a good idea because it did the trick. But then she reminded me, that it was because we prayed first - and so we Thanked the Lord for that very practical and immediate answer to our prayer. The point is that very often we take God for granted after he so "matter-of-factly" answers our prayers, in both the small and the great.

Now concerning the spiritual, it may be, that all our son needed was a soft dry cloth wrapped around his booty, but if there were any demonic annoyance (due to us letting down our guard), then we know that we took care of both, and we have greater Peace in our home because we have honored God. In that instance, God immediately imparted wisdom, and we did not have any indication if it was physical only or if it might have actually been spiritual irritation from a demon.

Even with each other, We have found a great indicator: we know that if we can't stop and pray together there is a problem either with our pride or demonic influence, or both. If it's both, it's because pride is a major doorway for a demon to gain access to your flesh (mind, emotions, body). No matter how hard the problem, we have found that if we push everything away and pray first, then things start to come back in line and the problems become solvable.

We pray for God's protection and blessing on a regular basis. But none-the-less, we admit to our human faults. And it is better wise to take all things into consideration, especially the spiritual realm and especially when you don't understand what's going on around you. Why wait until you have a problem before you pray?! Why not pray first before the problems even happen! - We have enjoyed that in our house - we have recognized it - and we thank God for His REAL Peace! Remember the illustration of the umbrella? Trusting first in God is how you walk in His Peace.

"Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:6-7)

In contrast, we have had experiences where it was obvious that someone was irrationally irritated with us, and we had done nothing to provoke such underlying anger and verbal abuse. We found an excuse to take a quick break (2 -3 minutes). We prayed and silenced the voice and influence of any demonic spirits. Upon returning, we found the person had a dramatic change of attitude, couldn't remember why they needed to be angry and proceded to be kind, gracious and even thankful.
Folks, the spiritual realm is real! ...and so is your PEACE (which is your authority in Christ)

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,
that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him,
for He cares for you."
(1 Peter 5:6-7)

As you draw closer to God, your spiritual senses will become more acute. It's not really that your spirit becomes bigger and stronger. It's that as you become a more humble (transparent) vessel, you allow more of God's light (which is powerful) to shine through you, dispelling the darkness for the situation at hand. It is important to note that we have had a greater result in our prayers, after we knocked down a good many strongholds in our hearts. Please take the time to go through the training module on STRONGHOLDS - with an honest heart.

There's no magic in the Truth, because magic gets its mystery in the fear of the unknown. Consequently, the more you know the Truth, the less fear of the unknown there will be. But knowledge alone is not where you will find your confidence. Your walk on "The Path" of Freedom and Life will be more solid, the more you put your trust (faith) in the most solid rock, in Jesus Christ, THE Truth .

In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.
(Psalm 62:7).

About QUOTING SCRIPTURE...

Some people believe that just quoting the scripture (Ephesians 6:10-20) is needed to be protected. Unfortunately, that's not reality. That's merely a superficial attempt to apply scripture. Although it is good to quote scripture, the power of its Truth does not flow through you unitll you truly possess the meaning of the words. Christianity is not a superstitious belief where we quote the scriptures like "positive affirmations" or worse: like incantations. The word of God cannot be used as "church-craft" --which is erroneously trying to wield the power of God under the control of our flesh.

True Christianity is Truth spoken from the heart.

"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
but in the power of God."
(1 Corinthians 2:4-5)

Now, Let's back-pedal for one second: If all you can do right now is quote scripture...by all means - do it! But do so with the intent to memorize it and then meditate on what it means and how it applies to your life. Seek God through that scripture, and hear His wisdom and Love shining His Truth on your next steps on the path towards your destiny in this life and that which is to come. This is how you will get God's Word into your heart and soul and ultimately your belief.

"So then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)

The bottom line is that the power comes when you believe it -- or better said:

"For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
(Mark 11:23-24)

There is a curious process of gaining wisdom. First let's take note that if you look throughout the Bible for the combination of the following words: Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom you find that they are many times within the same passage and often in the same sentence (especially in the Proverbs). Some will say that the process is first knowledge (the facts), then understanding (how the facts work) then wisdom (How you can apply the facts). Others, will tell you that you gain first the WISDOM through obedience the God, then you are able to UNDERSTAND and come to truly KNOW the laws of God. Indeed, both are true and both will take place as you walk with the Holy Spirit and seek Him through the scriptures. Truly, Life is an adventure when you walk with God.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. "
(Proverbs 9:10)

The Bible was given to us through descendants of Israel who have faithfully recorded it, harbored it, and delivered it to the world. And it was done so greatly against the odds. The fact that we even have the wondrous and ancient text of the Holy Bible is indeed a miracle as it (and the Jewish people) has been attempted to be annihilated by many enemies throughout the centuries, even to this day. Indeed, the warfare is real and continues on all levels (from spiritual to soul to physical).

The "Orientation" in the first two modules was to help give you some understanding as you now progress with your faith into God's word in the scriptures. For new believers, we highly encourage you to read the words of Jesus in the four Gospels (Mathew, Mark, Luke and John) as well as the book of Acts (and don't stop there).

Please keep in mind that this website is, in essence, an intensive course NOT designed for the casual reader. As said before, your spiritual growth will not happen automatically. It happens as you put your trust in God and take action steps of faith in obedieance to what He is telling you. Obviously that requres a listening ear. As you seek God at a deeper level through His Word (The Bible) and through a mentorship program (Like LIFEPATH) that hopefully you are involved in while going through this website, your hearing will improve.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God
for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Indeed, as the movie the MATRIX portrays, there's a period of adjustment when you've been re-born out of a world you thought was real. But as a Christian in these times, you CANNOT afford to REMAIN CLUELESS. You have to be more than aware of REALITY on all levels (not just what you can see with your eyes and touch with your hands in the physical realm, and not just concepts in your mind).
